FAQ
Travel & Transportation
Which airport should we fly into?
We recommend flying into Tucson International Airport (TUS). Tucson’s airport is a 40 minute drive from Tanque Verde Ranch and shuttle service is available through the ranch. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) is the second closest option. Driving from Phoenix to the ranch takes approximately 2 hours.
What is the best way to get to the ranch from the airport?
Airport arrival and departure transfers are available through Tanque Verde Ranch. Transfers via ranch vans are $55/trip and can accommodate ten (10) passengers plus luggage. Airline schedules are required at least 21 days prior to arrival to guarantee availability.
Most major car rental companies are available on-site at Tucson International Airport. Additionally, Tanque Verde Ranch can schedule rental cars to be delivered to the ranch on request.
Will I be able to use Uber/Lyft/taxi services to get around once I’m there?
We do not recommend relying on Uber, Lyft, or taxi services once you have arrived at the ranch, unless you plan to schedule rides ahead of time. Tanque Verde Ranch is outside of Tucson city limits and these types of transportation services may be unreliable.

General
How hot will it get?
Daily highs in Tucson during June range from 96 degrees at the beginning of the month to 102 degrees by the end of the month. Because Tucson is so dry, that won’t feel as hot as it sounds so long as you stay out of direct sunlight. Additionally, temperatures drop down to the mid-60’s at night. This can feel even cooler in the area around the ranch due to its location at the base of the Rincon mountains and the prevalence of mesquite and cottonwood trees.
Some quick tips for beating the heat:
Stay out of the sun during the hottest part of the day, usually 3-4 p.m. Staying in the shade can make you feel 10-15 degrees cooler than in direct sunlight.
Drink plenty of water.
Try to wear clothes made of breathable fabrics, like cotton or linen.
What’s the dress code, and what on earth is “Cowboy Casual?”
Cowboy Cookout & Rehearsal Dinner — Cowboy Casual
Jeans and nice shirts for the guys and jeans or sundresses for the ladies. It will get chilly once the sun goes down so be sure to bring a light jacket. We definitely recommend wearing closed-toe shoes to this event; the Cottonwood Grove and the trail to get there are unpaved dirt.
Wedding Celebration — Ranch Formal
Semi-formal: slacks and jacket or shirt and tie for the guys, cocktail dresses for the ladies. The ceremony and cocktail hour will take place on the barn lawn, the reception will be inside the barn.
Brunch — Casual
Come as you are, or bring a swimsuit if you want to take a dip in the pool.
Boots are always encouraged!
Will I see any wildlife while I’m there?
If you’re lucky—yes! In addition to the herd of horses and cattle that call Tanque Verde Ranch home, you might encounter a variety of local wildlife including roadrunners, javelinas, desert tortoise, coyotes, jackrabbits and bobcats.
Where are the bride and groom registered?
